Helping Senior Citizens Write Their Memories

The easy and meaningful way to write the wonderful details of our lives

Here's what real people using Remember Poems have to say about their experiences:

"I have concluded during my grieving the importance of having a purpose during whatever life remains. If you live in an assisted living or other senior facility, the purpose becomes even more important. Without purpose, these places become "warehouses of old people". Poetry class has become one of my purposes. I have others, but poetry is both challenging and fun." Ross

"Poetry class is a delightful, ongoing experience...an encouragment of a community of caring folks challenged to write of our experiences and learning in the process. The best fun is watching people who think they can't write ultimately turning out beautifully constructed, often moving, often funny writing in various styles. It's a fun community of folks learning about each other and our hidden talents." Mona

"For those thinking of trying to write poetry...the experience is so different from what I ever expected. No requirements for rhyme, meter, or sentence structure! We get a subject and look at the sample poem, and then have freedom to have at it--which each person in our poetry class does from his or her own well of experience with humor, pathos, or whatever emotion the subject triggers. All ideas are welcome and life experience is all that's required."  Jane

“My residents love writing these poems! The poems are about yourself, your family, and life experiences. They really are a great way to share your story. I just helped a resident put her poems together into a poetry book, and since the poems are about her, it’s a great keepsake.”
